Welcome to a journey into the future with the Norris Brothers Band across America’s historic Route 66. The ride starts here with the first single, “Ride on Route 66”, which sets the stage for our blast off into a future where we've finally figured out how to live in harmony with each other and Mother Earth. The Route 66 album will continue with signature Norris Brothers feel-good tunes, and will be released one song at a time as the ride and the stories unfold, with a full album release at the end of the journey. Ride on Route 66

well it started with a cooler
full of ice and pop
and us kids in the back seat
dad lowered the top
mom slid across the front seat
and she cranked up the radio

with the mornin' sun shinin'
and the cool wind in our hair
we drove straight into
that early summer air
took a right at the light
then we followed the sun
toward the sea

mom and dad were still young
with their whole lives ahead
and I still can recall
all the things that they said
as we started off on that adventure
on America's Main Street

the sky was the limit
we had men in space
and progress and inventions
all over the place
we had everything we needed
there was nothin' we couldn't do
it was mountains and deserts
and endless starry skys
i swear i saw this world
through a new set of eyes
right there on the Mother Road
i felt the joy of being alive
on that ride
on Route 66

with our hands out the windows
in the wind to beat the heat
we flew forever through the
fields of corn and wheat
i remember mom smiled and said
someday everyone on earth
will have enough to eat

we drove on past the neon
and the last chance for gas
out there with the cactus
and the buffalo grass
dad pulled the car over and said
one day this is where
we'll make our energy

there'll be windmills and panels
as far as you can see
we'll be pullin' power right down
out of thin air for free
i can still see the light in dad's eyes
i can still hear him say
(i can hear him say)

the sky is the limit
we have men in space
and progress and inventions
all over the place
we have everything we need
there is nothin' we can't do
it was mountains and deserts
and endless starry skys
i swear i saw this world
through a new set of eyes
right there on the Mother Road
i felt the joy of being alive
on that ride
on Route 66

there are those who'll take you down
that dead end road to gloom and doom
and I'll admit i made a wrong turn
down that way a time or two
but somehow i always seem to find
my way back here again
with my kids in the back seat
and my hair in the wind

and the sky is still the limit
we got women in space
and progress and inventions
all over the place
we have everything we need
there is nothin' we can't do
in the mountains and deserts
and endless starry skys
i still can see this world
through a new set of eyes
right here on the mother road
i feel the joy of being alive
on this ride

the sky was the limit
we had men in space
and progress and inventions
all over the place
we had everything we needed
there was nothin' we couldn't do
it was mountains and deserts
and endless starry skys
i swear i saw this world
through a new set of eyes
right there on the Mother Road
i felt the joy of being alive
on that ride
on Route 66
